Title: Does anybody know? Post by: jammo1989 on June 01, 2015, 09:23:58 AM Whats the difference is between a Borderline Waif and Histrionic Personality disorder? Title: Re: Does anybody know? Post by: enlighten me on June 01, 2015, 09:37:42 AM I actually thought my ex wife was histrionic until I looked into my exgfs behaviour and discovered BPD.
For me it boiled down to the dsm 4 and how the criteria for BPD was more of a match (she ticksall nine) and the frequency of these behaviours. For your own curiosity write down the criteria for both and then grade them one to ten. Take an average for each pd and how many of the criteria of each they tick. This should give you an idea of what your dealing with. Dont forget though that these pd's can be co morbid. Title: Re: Does anybody know? HPD is founded on being overly dramatic, the need to be the center of attention, openly flirtatious and sexually provocative. Waifs are more submissive and dependent on others. I would describe a waif as a comorbidity of BPD/DPD. |
