Hi agata,

I am very sorry to hear about this troubling situation with your sister. Why was she hospitalized, was it because of her suicidal behavior? Has she ever been suicidal before? Did anything perhaps happen in her life recently that might have triggered this in her?

It's very unfortunate that some people with BPD have suicidal tendencies. That really is a though thing to have to deal with as her sibling. BPD is quite a difficult disorder but there are forms of therapy that have been proven to be effective in certain cases, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Is your sister currently getting any targeted treatment or therapy for her BPD and suicidal ideation?

I can definitely see how this could take its toll on you and leave you feeling drained. What is your sister's current living situation and does she have any other family-members living nearby that could help her too?

Take care and welcome to bpdfamily
