Title: Don't know what to believe.
Post by: jadexxx on August 30, 2015, 07:12:37 PM
I've been with my boyfriend for over a year and a half. We're each other's longest relationship and have never had anything like this before. I can't imagine my life without him but there are some struggles. The wishy washiness can be overwhelming sometimes and I feel sometimes like maybe I'm over rexaggerating and sometimes I feel justified. I'm a very opinionated person and know where I stand on pretty much everything. I'm very firm in my beliefs and I thought he was too. Until it changes. I want to believe him but sometimes it almost feels like he's lying. I know he can't help it but it still sucks. There will be certain views he has that I agree with and it's attractive he feels the same way as me and then months later that thought can flip flop and his "new" view can be so different, it turns me off and makes me feel like I don't fully know him. I'm stuck.

Hello jadexxx  ,

Welcome to bpdfamily,

Feeling stuck is a feeling that lots of us on here will be able to identify and relate to. It does sound difficult not knowing where you are in your relationship because of what you describe as ambiguous and changing views and opinions from your bf. Feeling like you are being lied to must be upsetting and confusing.

This is a forum for anyone who believes someone they know might have characteristics of or have been diagnosed with BPD. Can you tell us a little bit more about what brought you here, do you think this might relate to your bf?

It sounds like an important relationship for both of you given that it is the longest relationship you have both been in.
