Title: Young love with many questions Post by: LadyTitan on September 10, 2015, 12:06:03 PM I just found out recently that my boyfriend of 2 months has been diagnosed with BPD. His mother admitted him into a mental hospital where he has been getting treatment this past week. Recently the last time I talked to him he was telling me that he has decided to fully become this female persona of his that has been taking over his mind Tanya and that "Tony" was never real, but he's never shown any indication of femininity or wanting to be feminine. He has confided in me that he was bi-curious but that was it. His mother believes that he thinks he will find life and love easier if he was a woman, though in reality he has that.
What should I do? Title: Re: Young love with many questions Post by: 123Phoebe on September 10, 2015, 01:31:53 PM Welcome to the board LadyTitan
BPD is a confusing disorder to understand and probably even harder to live with You've been dating for 2 months? Did you know him for some time before that? Is it his mother who seems to be pushing for him to become Tanya? What should I do? Don't know if you've studied up on this, but there are Lessons provided on the side of this page that will give you a better understanding of Borderline Personality Disorder. I think I'd start there and then come back here with any questions and concerns. How do you feel about all this? What if Tony were to become Tanya? Title: Re: Young love with many questions Post by: LadyTitan on September 10, 2015, 04:24:05 PM His mother isn't pushing him to be Tanya and she's just as shocked as me his mother is his adopted mother and she's been raising him since he was little and he showed no indication of femininity or wanting to be female he was into girls and having a girlfriend but he had a string of bad relationships before meeting me. I have read up on BPD and I strongly believe it's the cause as for him wanting to be female i believe it steams from this virtual game we met on called imvu he used a male and female account on there and his mom didn't like it cuz it got him in trouble, he came out as being genderfluid and from what I read on being genderfluid is that you don't really pick sides one day you feel masculine and the next day you might feel feminine
