Title: wills

Has anyone had to look at their will  purely  because you didn't trust the BPD ex (be they male or female) ie they may try to get money from the surviving members of your family?

I've heard some have given $1 so problem people can't complain they were overlooked.  Others have it written that anyone contesting the will would be disinherited.

My ex and I both had wills written before the marriage imploded.  Once the divorce was final I rewrote my will.  I don't know if ex rewrote hers but so far as I know there's not much if anything to inherit from her.

I also updated all the beneficiary records for my personal and work insurance policies, retirement accounts, etc.  Since a minor can't receive money directly, I wrote on those forms "In trust for {children} pursuant to will dated {date}".  And no, my ex is not anywhere in the 'trust'.  Since I don't have much in assets now, the trust won't exist unless I die while my child is still a minor.

Her getting anything my relatives might inherit is unlikely since she alienated them all in the process of destroying the marriage amid a decade of conflict before, during and after the divorce.
