Title: Re: triangulation... Post by: mimi99 on October 11, 2015, 11:00:19 AM My BPD experience is with my daughter so I can't speak to the same "relationship" issues you have. My thinking on this is that while "average" people may feel attracted to or flirt a bit with others, most have the impulse control and critical thinking skills to know not to act on it. To BPD's feelings are facts and whatever they think of at the moment is immediately acted upon. If they think someone is cute, it must be love! If someone is nice to them, it must be love! If someone likes something they like, it must be love! If you don't answer quickly enough, you hate them. If they are 3 minutes late to work, they are going to be fired. If the ex is 5 minutes late bringing the kids back, they have been kidnapped. So on and so on... So I think that the inability to stop and check the facts, let the initial reaction sit for awhile and think about consequences while in the moment of intense feelings causes them to behave in such destructive ways. As for changing your number, I had an ex (he may be an anti-social personality) who thought of ingenious ways to get my number, even after I changed it multiple times. It took criminal charges (and ultimately jail time) before he stopped chasing me down. Good luck to you.
