I am so excited for her and she is very excited as well! Fingers crossed it goes well. She wants to open an account and give me half her pay to start saving up for a car. |iiii

Title: Re: First job for DD16 Post by: mimi99 on October 19, 2015, 10:47:04 AM Congratulations to your daughter. I remember when my daughter got her first job and the feeling I had when I pulled up and saw her mopping the floor for the first time! It can be very validating to BPD's to have a job and their own money. I found that my d was on her best behavior at work, not displaying any of the traits that were so challenging at home. She felt so good about herself when she would get good feedback from the customers and management. Surely something to celebrate

She likes it and was thrilled to have made $15 in tips. Lol. Plus she makes minimum wage. She is extremely tired. So far so good. |iiii

Title: Re: First job for DD16 Post by: raytamtay3 on October 21, 2015, 12:13:08 PM I wanted to mention that since DD was put on Lamictal is when things really started turning around for her. There is a marked change in her mood and compliance since starting the med back in July. I'd say there has been an 80% improvement.
Wanted to also add that she got a 90% on her history test! :) I am so proud of her and tell her often. She has grown so much over the past two years. |iiii Title: Re: First job for DD16 Post by: jellibeans on October 21, 2015, 12:27:05 PM Ray
This past year has been pretty difficult for my dd and I believe it started when she was in sober living and not being consistant with taking her meds. She has been on Lamictal too for some time and once it was at a theraputic level we also saw some really good results. In her second rehab my dd stopped taking Lamictal cold turkey... .this is when things got really bad... .her third rehab also changed her meds and lowered her Lamictal which ended up with my dd very suicidal and threatening to jump off the 17th floor of a building. She has been at home now for a few months and her meds are back to where they were before all of this started and once again her mood has improved greatly. Lamictal has been the only med we have seen any benefit from as well. I just wanted to share with you. I know meds are not the answer but it seems this one med has had an impact on her. I also know this med is usually given for bipolar but my dd is not bipolar. I am glad to read your dd continues to do well. I can remember how things were last year with her and I am sure you were exhausted from the stress of it all. I hope things continue to improve for you and your d. |
