Title: Suggestions with literature for my family ~ Post by: Rameses on October 22, 2015, 12:31:34 PM can anyone recommend any literature on what my family can do to help me get through the detachment process with a very intense relationship with my BPDw. I am in a really bad place right now. I have an appointment with a psyc and a therapist next week. But they are wondering what they can do in the meantime other than just be there/
Books or articles etc. Title: Re: Suggestions with literature for my family ~ Post by: Lucky Jim on October 23, 2015, 11:54:03 AM Hey Ramseses,
There are two great articles about BPD that appeared in the New York Times, which you can find on the internet. One is about Marsha Linehan, who is an expert on BPD, and the other is by Jane Brody. Both are really good, in my view. For yourself, I would recommend Iron John by Robert Bly, which is a great book about men's issues. Although he doesn't discuss BPD directly, he writes about issues that are quite pertinent to BPD and relationships. LuckyJim |
