Title: Scary Mommy
Post by: dafsheli on October 29, 2015, 09:37:40 AM

My mother was never a mommy, but always scary. I'm 30yo and she can still cut me down with a look or shrug or tiny criticism. I'm currently getting divorced and she ranted to my ex that I am moving our kids to a terrible neighborhood (no word to me), have no idea what I'm doing, and am flying by the seat of my pants. I didn't expect anything else from her, but it still hurts. I need to get emotionally detangled from her constant disapproval because I'm now a single mom to my three awesome kiddos and trying to do joint custody.

Thanks for reading.

Hi dafsheli

You are dealing with a lot right now. Getting divorced can be stressful enough, you are also taking care of your three kids and your mother unfortunately is causing problems.

Your mother ranted to your ex about you. How would you describe the relationship your ex has with your mother?

I am glad you are reaching out for support and advice here. Many of our members have a BPD parent too and know how tough it can be.

You label your mother as always having been scary. In what ways exactly is she scary? Did/do you feel safe around her?

I encourage you to keep posting. Welcome to our online family
