Title: teenagers with BPD
Post by: kemma on October 29, 2015, 11:53:21 PM
I was referred to this site from a book i read entitled, "Walking on Eggshell". My daughter is 18 and was just  diagnosed with the beginnings of BPD. She is in therapy. I just wanted to reach out and see if there are other parents dealing with an adolescent who has been diagnosed with the beginning stages of BPD.

HI Kemma,

My dd20 was dx emerging PD when she was 15yo so I understand what you are going through.

It is great that your dd is in therapy which gives hope for some improvement

My dd will not try therapy or even admit there is anything wrong with her.

Hello kemma

Glad you are here!

My daughter, now 19 was diagnosed with emerging BPD at age 12.

She continues to attend outpatient therapy and is doing ok.  She still struggles with intense emotional reactions sometimes and also has the skills to cope... .skills she learned in RTC and outpatient therapy.

What kind of therapy is your daughter in?

What do you struggle with regarding her behaviors the most?

I look forward to hearing back from you and learning more about you and your daughter.
