I always knew that there was something just not right about my relationship with my mother and my own life, and I always thought that she had either bipolar disorder or borderline disorder. last week I finally googled the long term effects of a daughter with a borderline mother and it was like a ton of bricks landed on me!. I just bought a new house which was a tremendous success for me since I did it by myself. My mother came into my new home and started criticizing everything. I confronted her about her negativity and she left my house in a storm. since then I've been doing more research and I am really starting to feel mad... so that's my story for now, thank you for allowing me to come into the group.

*welcome* And congratulations on the new home! It should be a happy time, but it sounds like your mother felt compelled to rain on what should have been a parade. Does she have a history of dong this, belittling (implictly or explcitly) your accomplishments? Turkish |
