Title: Bereavement of close one to BPD
Post by: reachingoutuk on November 28, 2015, 01:01:58 PM
I'm still trying to understand & educate myself on BPD, with my ex she seemed to get much much worse after the death of her mother to whome she was very close. I don't just mean for a little while after I mean years & years & she also got worse & worse on drugs after this point too which could in turn have impacted her behavior.

Is her reaction to her loss connected to her BPD or is it just that she struggled with the death of a close one like most would?

Yes loss hits them harder than it does other people. They have issues with attachment and loss. They often either totally block out feelings re: the loss and deny feelings, or they are soaked in grief
