For the past ten months I have been involved in what can best be described as an on again - off again relationship with a 23 year old woman that has been diagnosed with BPD. The lies. The other men and women. The manipulations. The words that come from her mouth that I want to believe - heck, I think she even believes them too - that only end up in me curled up into the fetal position on my bed, or even worse - the bathroom floor.

She was diagnosed with BPD nearly 7 months ago, after a night of drinking lead to her physically attacking me with blows to the head. A cracked cheek bone and broken heart later, she apologized to me, and admitted that she needed to get some help. She began seeing a psychiatrist who diagnosed her and recommended that she enroll herself into weekly one on one therapy, along with DBT classes. That lasted for the past six months, until recently - when she quit, period. A decision that she claims her parents fully supported. SMH

Did I forget to mention her suicide attempt two months ago, which of course, from what she tells people, was my fault... .

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having such a bad time over the last 10 months. What you are describing sounds pretty standard behaviour for someone with BPD. I'm glad you found this website. Lots of people here have been through similar things and there are lots of materials to help you to step back and consider your situation.

From your post, it sounds like you have retained a sense of humour throughout this ordeal, but there's a lot of gallows humour there. How are you feeling now?
