My husband has BPD. He regularly becomes verbally abusive. He is in therapy and learning DBT. I am also learning DBT. It is difficult to deal with on a daily basis. Just looking for some support form people who understand what ai am dealing with. Thank you.

Hi Acceptance,

Welcome to BPD family

It sounds like you have really done well for yourself, that you are both in DBT. That in itself is quite an achievement given the nature of BPD.

Most folks here can empathise with what you are going through. I'm so sorry you have to experience verbal abuse. Is he improving with DBT?

Hi Acceptance03,

I wanted to join with Moselle in welcoming you to this site.  You've found a good place and made a brave first step.  Come in, make yourself comfortable and join the conversations.

Verbal abuse is difficult to deal with,  has therapy helped you get a plan in place on how to handle the abuse when it begins?

My partner and I used to have raging arguments, which have pretty much subsided now that I have been coming here and learning everything I could about BPD and working the Lessons provided on this site.   (you can find the lessons here (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=56206.0))

How long have you know about the diagnosis?
