Title: Saying Goodbye Hurts
Post by: Joseph54 on December 30, 2015, 11:52:27 AM
Counselling failed, separated 1 1/2 years ago, legally separated 10 months ago. Now filing for Divorce.

I was diagnosed and have been going through therapy for PTSD.

Both Mom & 2nd Wife were BPD.

I am thankful for the experience and healing.

I am grieving the loss of a bad relationship(s).

Saying good bye makes me cry.

It sounds like you have done everything you possibly could to make it work.  Healing from the wounds created, regardless of where on the spectrum they are, isn't easy.  It sounds like you've learned a lot about yourself.  Saying goodbye is extremely difficult (I know, I'm in the process of it even as I type this to you).  There's so many mixed emotions that it's crazy.  Heck, the r/s was crazy (I'm sure yours was the same).

Take care of yourself.  It gets better, with time and distance.

Hi Joseph54,

I'm sorry to hear that. You suffered loss. It's hard to say good-bye and it can be a long good-bye too. It helps to talk about it. Hang in there.

Thanks,

I know grieving is a part of the process.

I need to let go and say my goodbyes no matter how much it hurts.

I just need to let it out.
