The first time my daughter attempted a Cymbalta withdrawal, her physical pain was so great that she had to start taking it again. Of course, she had the mood swings as well, but the primary symptom that I remember was intense pain, a feeling she described as "muscles trying to separate from her bones." There were other symptoms, that's just the one I remember best. On her second attempt, which was a much slower taper, we used a compounding pharmacy to break apart the Cymbalta capsules into small doses. We found this out by researching on the internet. Apparently this is an all-too-common problem. It required a doctor's prescription, but this allowed her to come off with less pain. I can't recall exactly how much she reduced each dose by, and it may require some experimentation to find how much your daughter is able to tolerate. I don't know how long your daughter has been on this drug, but mine had been taking it for 3-4 years. Hope this is helpful. Wishing you all the best, Slipping |
