Title: Daughter, 13, as been diagnosed. Post by: torbietoes on January 10, 2016, 10:23:46 AM Hi. My 13 year old daughter has been diagnosed with BPD. It's been a year in the making, a 3 hospitalizations before we got the official diagnosis. Now she is in counseling with a good therapist, we have her on lockdown basically with a new security system. struggling when to give her a little freedom, tired of being prison wards, feeling the life we have had is over.

It seems you have landed in the right spot. Your emotions are shared by many here. For many years I felt like I was both the warden and the prisoner. What helped me was this board and the plethora of resources it has to offer. Take some time to review resources to the right. Take some time to care for yourself. For most here, our journeys are similar and the road sometimes rocky, so lean on us as you need. |
