Title: Last chance
Post by: esmaine on January 17, 2016, 02:33:23 PM
Ok so basically my bp daughter aged 21 cannot live with us anymore as we are safegaurding her 6 month old baby, we are being assessed by a team of social workers to see if we can parental responsibilty for her and if not she will be taken into care, things are looking positive so far.

My dd in the mean time has in the space of a month been thrown out of her boyfriends flat twice and been thrown out of a hostel I got her into 2 days before xmas.  She is on her last chance now with our local council, they are putting her up in another hostel 12 miles from us tomorrow.

Its a golden oppourtunity as they have mental health workers on site whom will teach her life skills how to budget etc and if she manages not to get kicked out they will progress her onto a flat of her own, on the other hand if she gets kicked out they say there is no more help available as far as housing is concerned. worry worry, does it ever end

It sounds like you're in the Uk esmaine? Have you found the Kinship Carers network on Facebook? It has been a godsend to me going through all of the trauma of taking your grandchild away from your child, honestly has kept me sane (ish). It's a rough place you're in so take time to grieve and look after yourself as well xx
