Title: Ghetto Gal; I could use some advice concerning a not-self-sufficient woman.

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to read this and possibly offer feedback if you have something to say.

I've been on and off with an old friend for a few years now. We mostly maintain a friendship; yet we occasionally sleep together also.

Here is the dilemma. It would probably be in my best interest to quit sleeping with her. When we do, I feel sort of tied to her situation.

Her situation: She is a Mom with two kids. She doesn't work. She has a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood that she does not take care of. You go inside and it's like you've been teleported out of the nice neighborhood and into a ghetto. It's trashed. It looks like junk. And, she doesn't work; and she doesn't take care of it. I've known her children for a few years also; they are becoming brats as they get older -constantly screaming and hitting, not taking care of anything, and being generally disagreeable (because of their Mom's ways).

As I said before, it's probably in my best interest to quit sleeping with her. Because, it ties me to feeling responsible for her situation. I start to feel the weight of her world. However, it's not so easy, because she has her sweet side, and in a way, I love her. So, I am sort of confused about how to handle this. I think I'm afraid that I'll regret walking away; simply because on some level I do love her.

Once again, thanks for taking the time to read this and possibly offer feedback if you have something to say.

By the way; it is relevant that she is diagnosed with BPD.
