Title: Introduction Post by: 8daysAweek on March 19, 2016, 08:03:45 PM Hello all,
I am a young recovered Borderline here to help parents find solutions for problems they might have with their BPD children. I am here to offer advice that could help with communication, problem solving, validation, etc. from my own experiences as a Borderline child. I was diagnosed at the age of 11 with emerging BPD while at an inpatient facility. After that things got harder for my family and I. At the age of 13 my parents decided to enroll me in a therapeutic boarding school so I could get the help I truly needed that they couldn’t provide for me at home. I stayed there for 10 months and worked very hard on myself and the issues I had. I am now 19 years old and no longer meet the criteria for BPD. Even though things get hard sometimes, I manage to pull through for the benefit of myself and loved ones. It's inspirational that your story shows that there is hope I look forward to your contributions here. I have a 6 year old who while generally a sweet kid, has always been difficult, easily triggered and over-emotional. He's my eldest (his sister turns 4 next month), so I don't post here much because he's, well, 6. But even my mother recently commented on his anger issues when he told her the other day that he wanted to run away . I may start a thread sometime soon to see what wisdom you may give, but in the meantime, *welcome* Turkish Title: Re: Introduction Post by: 8daysAweek on March 19, 2016, 09:02:44 PM Thank you for the welcome, Turkish.
I look forward to contributing all my wisdom and skills to this website. Title: Re: Introduction Post by: lbjnltx on March 19, 2016, 09:31:53 PM Welcome to the site!
I'm so glad to have you here participating with us and offering your insights. What would you say are the most important factors in your recovering experience? I look forward to reading your response here and in other Parent's topics. lbjnltx Title: Re: Introduction Post by: 8daysAweek on March 19, 2016, 09:39:14 PM Good question lbj.
With out a doubt, the most contributing and helpful thing in my recovery was and is still the unconditional love, care, and support from my parents. -8 days Title: Re: Introduction Post by: Suzn on March 19, 2016, 09:41:06 PM Hello 8daysAweek
