Title: % of light/moderate pwBPD that have healty r/s after therapy? Post by: FraFra85 on March 29, 2016, 11:57:00 AM The question is: how many of pwBPD with light/moderate disorder can have healty r/s after therapy if we assume
1. that without therapy it's almost impossible; 2. pwBPD with severe disorder often go in hospital, jail or symptoms are more strong so it's more easy for theme to recognize or be recognized by someone that something it's wrong; 3. most of pwBPD with light/moderate disorder are unaware and they don't want to go to therapy or they go in/out (and from what I read this is huge part of pwBPD); 4. for minority of them that go to therapy, theme should have strong desire and commitment to change his/her behaviour and this is very hard work for BPD or nons; 5. money to make years of therapy; 6. find good professionist about BPD; 7. pwBPD should have good introspection and also other qualities to improve behaviour in r/s (in combinations with therapy) and every person is different. 8. lot of studies shows that suicide or drugs abuse reduce with therapy but in light/moderate BPD we could not have these issues, instead we could have problem in r/s and few studies take this in exam. Not few points and for sure I forget something. We could assume a % or a probable range of pwBPD that could have healty r/s with light/moderate BPD in 1-10%? 11-20%? 21-30%? 31-40%? From my idea reading here on forum and Others studies I could say 1-10% of theme. What are your opionions? Title: Re: % of light/moderate pwBPD that have healty r/s after therapy? But if I am right regarding the reason why are you asking this question - just a friendly advice: Don't do this to yourself... .:) Title: Re: % of light/moderate pwBPD that have healty r/s after therapy? Post by: once removed on March 29, 2016, 12:53:10 PM im not sure of a study on this or how healthy relationships would be gauged. your guess is as good as mine. you are correct that therapy shows improvement in life functioning. there are too many variables (like the other partner) for me to know how to that would translate for any given person or relationship but i assume better life functioning would improve relationships generally.
members on the improving board have made great strides; in some cases its one sided, in many cases both partners adapt and improve. we also have a thread featuring success stories here: https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=113820.0 Title: Re: % of light/moderate pwBPD that have healty r/s after therapy? - oncer: I read that discussion and ton of others... .There are few real healty r/s on this site because ton of points are needed to achieve it. Ok, we could assume that people that find equilibrium in r/s with pwBPD don't need to go here, but in the other hands lot of peoble with bad experiences also; lot of theme are totally unaware about BPD and theme could think: we broke bec she was crazy, she was too emotional, she was too abusive, bec she cheated, ecc. Here we are only a peak of the iceberg. Imho it's possibile to have have healty r/s with a pwBPD with light-moderate disorder but because too many qualities, work, money, attitude and commitment are needed it's rare. |
