Title: I'm new to all of this, but a little help would be amazing Post by: brooklyn80 on May 11, 2016, 04:46:26 PM hello all!
fairly new to all of this stuff, I am not entirely sure my ex has BPD, so if someone could enlighten me that would be great. She is 23 now, but when she had someone who looked after her when she was young (said she was like her second mom) because her parents worked and then one day the lady just left without explanation. (possible abandonment?) Anyway we had a two year relationship v v intense honeymoon period (she was still sleeping with her ex boyfriend of 2 years a month before meeting me which she didnt tell me) broke up once a few months ago, got back together, she broke up with me last week, started off with her just ignoring me and then she said we needed to chat, then she broke up with me, saying I give her no respect, she has never been happy, she said she feels emotions too strongly, she said I was crazy, abnormal, etc etc. This come soon after saying 'I was one of the biggest blessings in her life, the most incredible thing in the world, loves me more than anything) shes now getting stoned a lot and looking pretty miserable when I see her around. Does this sound like BPD, or just an insecure ex? Title: Re: I'm new to all of this, but a little help would be amazing Post by: Turkish on May 11, 2016, 11:18:24 PM Hi brooklyn80,
This sounds like it may go beyond insecurity, despite her age. Maybe this can help: BPD: What is it? How can I tell? (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=63511.0) Splitting (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=62033.0) is common for people with BPD traits. You're either all good or all bad. Lacking a coherent internal self, it's hard to accurately view others for who they are through their projections (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=70931.0). Are you still in contact, or do you just see her around? Turkish |
