Title: Mother's Day phone call
Post by: MKG1015 on May 12, 2016, 03:45:51 PM
Not much of a story but I wanted to write down what happened... for me.

Mother's Day 12:01 PM

Phone plays Wicked Witch of the West Theme (BPDmom's ringtone)

Me: Hello

Her: DO YOU LOVE ME?

Me: huh?

Her: DO YOU LOVE ME?

Me: yyyyeeesssss (this is a lie but I know better than to tell her the truth)

Her: It is a VERY special day! I haven't received A SINGLE PHONE CALL from ANYONE. So I'm going to hang up and EXPECT MY PHONE CALL! ::click::

I held the phone away from me and SCREAMED "B***H!" I was too angry to call her back. The funny (and I use that word loosely) thing that happened is next is she got on facebook, no doubt to tell the world what a terrible daughter I am, only to see I had posted a pic of us on my wedding day wishing her a Happy Mother's Day. This is her response:

Okay, the lack of phone call is forgiven! I just should have checked here first, I guess.

 lol

I have that ringtone as well - for my uBPD sis.  My phone rang with that ringtone, during a therapy session one time. My phone was in my purse and my therapist was wondering about the noise and she eventually laughed when I told her what it was.

I think you handled this one well. And I laughed at the ringtone!

What's funny is that exact same thing happened to me and my therapist couldn't stop laughing! All she could say was "well speak of the devil!"

Turkish-

When I finally spoke to her later I told her "I didn't realize Mother's Day wishes came with a 12:00 deadline." She laughed and I

All-

LOL on the ringtone! I guess great minds think alike! |iiii

I suppose I should be grateful my mother is too paranoid to join Facebook. I don't know what's worse, being ignored or being harassed.

Unicorn2014-

I'm not sure which is worse being harrassed or ignored... .but, man, I'd    to give being ignored a chance! LOL I've blocked her as much as I can on fb, I had to once she started conversation threads on my FRIEND'S posts/photos I was tagged in I was done. Any inside jokes she would comment and demand "What does this mean?" Yeah. Blocked her ability to see that stuff. BUT she makes sure she likes, comments, shares, re-posts, tags, ad nauseum ad infinitum on every single thing I do on there. My husband will say "oh your mom must be on facebook again!" because my phone will go INSANE with notifications. I had 17 notifications JUST FROM HER the other day!

So, again, I'd love to give the "being ignored" thing a go.
