Title: having a hard time with my bf who is off his meds Post by: isadora on May 13, 2016, 04:56:40 PM I am new here. I have been with bf for 1 year and 6 months. He suffers from ptsd, bipolar and borderline personality. He has been off meds since November and its been pretty bad with his anger, threats to me, threatening to hurt himself. We live in separate cities. Havent seen him since January. In April he wanted me to go but I couldn't get the time off. At first he didn't believe me but I sent him emails from work to show my vacation was denied. Instead I booked to go in May for three weeks and he was OK with that. He is also angry with me cause I asked one of his friends to check on him. He had been suicidal and I didn't hear from him for three days. He found out I messaged his friend and feels I betrayed him. If I try to reach out to him he threatens to call the police which he has done once. I don't know what to do. I cancelled my holidays cause he was making threats to me.

Welcome to the site, we are glad you are here though sorry for what brings you. Having a loved one who is expressing suicidal ideation or making suicidal threats can leave us confused about what we should or shouldn't do. You did what you did in the best interest of your boyfriend and his safety. How he reacts to it is outside of the scope of your control. How is he threatening you? Do you feel safe? I look forward to hearing back from you and learning how to best support you! lbj Title: Re: having a hard time with my bf who is off his meds Post by: isadora on May 14, 2016, 01:47:10 PM Thanks for the reply. We live in separate cities so I do feel safe. I was going to visit him for three weeks but I cancelled cause of his threats. I called his friend cause I was concerned. He can't see that now.
