Title: A new issue Post by: atomic popsicles on May 28, 2016, 11:37:44 AM Well, this is odd. My BPD husband seems to have developed agoraphobia... .but he is furious at me that he is stuck in the house and has cabin fever. Has anyone else had this experience?

My BPD husband seems to have developed agoraphobia... .but he is furious at me that he is stuck in the house and has cabin fever. Has anyone else had this experience? Yep that comes in phases, it is social phobia, its anxiety issue based on insecurity and vulnerability. Think for my wife it is a fear of being criticized, or her social facade that she presents to acquaintances and strangers not being strong. Of course being BPD it is catastrophized and creates distress resulting in avoidance as the coping method. The less fuss I make of it the sooner she gets past it. Pointing out that it is silly just increases the anxiety. The feeling is real even if the reaction is over the top. |
