Post by: FeelingBitter on June 01, 2016, 11:35:57 AM All - I went ahead and called the counseling office and asked for their advice, and they gave me the same advice the crisis counselor did. Advise the friend to have a convo with her letting her know she will call the study abroad office if 'Anne' expresses ideations again, and if she doesn't want to have that convo, let me know and I will call the study abroad office.
I'm stepping back from this. I've been given the advice on this thread to immediately call the study abroad office, but I honestly think this will entangle me even more. I'll see what the student says but the good thing though is that the counseling office does know. Title: Re: Just got through MONTHS of hell with a BPD survivor... Post by: FeelingBitter on July 04, 2016, 04:52:48 PM So I've got an update. The friend of the BPD woman I was advocating for reached out to me to let me know that the BPD woman (anne) has been acting passive agressive and moody, and apparently called me and hung up when my phone was turned off. She also reached out to me and asked me if I could skype. Keep in mind I've been very professional with her and so she's prob freaking out about that. I emailed her back and told her I didn't have time, and asked her whether I needed to call counseling/study abroad to see if she needed support while she was abroad. She emailed me back letting me know she was ok, and she would see me in the fall. So I'm happy I'm setting boundaries and they are actually WORKING.
On another note. I don't understand why someone who is presumably ill and needs help wouldn't want to know what counseling services are available to her while she is abroad. Is this all part of her manipulation? |
