Title: Releasing with grace
Post by: kc sunshine on June 02, 2016, 07:16:34 PM
Today is my first day of releasing with grace.

My ex has been back and forth about the break up since she initiated it last saturday. On Monday night she called me saying she missed talking to me, and came over to see me on Tuesday morning. Tuesday afternoon she got super mad at me again, but then came by again in the morning. Last night we had a weird night of her other girlfriend, me, and her watching a movie which ended badly. This morning she called and said she was deeply conflicted between us (we were trying an open relationship) and very depressed about her life in general (work, mothering, her relationships with the two of us). I told her that I think we should take a break, that she had a lot going on and so did I. So that all seemed okay.

We haven't contacted each other since, which has felt okay. I have a twinge of wanting to contact her to see if she is okay because she was in such a rough place this morning, but I'm going to have faith that if she needs me she will call me. The fact of the other girlfriend makes it easier not to call-- I know she has her to turn to if she needs someone as well (though to be honest this rankles me at the same time as it releases me-- perhaps pride can help dissipate the FOG). Any thoughts, gang?

I think that's an overall good way to approach it.

Just make sure you are feeling better yourself.
