Title: could this be part of BPD or just weird quirks Post by: montenell on June 07, 2016, 10:48:14 AM I'm pretty sure my wife has BPD as i have posted about in the past, now i'm looking at some "quirks" and wondering if these may be part of if or if they are truly quirks. she is highly excitable and seems to want to bring everything to my attention, for example we can be watching something on tv together and she will keep tapping me and say something like " did you see that" she will call my name and be like can you believe that, and just keep trying to get my attention even though she has it... she also seems to have a habit of repeating stories to me, like she can tell me about some random event in the morning and then later on she will tell me about it again as if she never told me. In the past i never paid any attention to these things but now that i see she at least has tendencies of BPD and I am able to put my finger on her behavior and see that I am not the problem, i'm curious if these things are part of it too.

However, it is important for us nons to ask ourselves the question, does it matter if this is BPD or not? What you are observing is a "trait" or a "behavior". Generally it is best for us to respond to the actual behavior that is presented vice doing something "because she has BPD" or "because this behavior was due to BPD I will treat it differently". These particular behaviors aren't abusive or destructive just annoying at times... Now that I see that there is something that describes the pattern of her behavior I do notice more things
