Title: Bpd hospitalization Post by: Jacidrinkswine on June 07, 2016, 12:32:04 PM My ex with BPD is in dbt and getting psycotherapy. It is not working fast enough. I do not believe she is suicidal. She has an elavated mmpi score- especially pd of 73. She showed me her eeg scan - more than 2 standard deviations from normal. My questions is when is inpatient needed? How long ? What results have you experienced? Thanks
Ps this is having the unwanted effect of drawing me into the fog. I don't mean that to sound cold; rather, I wonder whether you are taking on more than you need to? LJ

You are 100 percent correct. I want out. She keeps telling me how sick she is and how she needs help. Claimed I am the only person who can help her with her sickness. Aski if I would leave is she had cancer. In summary - I want no contact but know she needs a great deal if help. Title: Re: Bpd hospitalization Post by: Silveron on June 07, 2016, 03:28:22 PM I've been married almost 12 years, my wife matches just about every trait to BPD. The psychologist she went to stated she needs years of therapy and though she has emotionally, verbally and physically abused me in the past and threatens almost daily to leave me and our 8 yr. old daughter... The psychologist told me that if I were to leave, that my wife would out a doubt commit suicide. So I do believe your ex when she says this. It's a guilt that lingers over you.
I think you can be there but put up strict boundaries on her and what you let her do to you. |
