Title: Healing from the emotional wounds is hard Post by: Moselle on June 12, 2016, 02:56:21 AM Just as a sportsman wants his physical injuries to heal so he/she can resume competition, so are the wounds from a Borderline relationship.
It takes time and therapy, effort and change. And just like the sports injury it takes time. Perhaps the biggest difference however in healing from an emotional injury. We are stronger than before. More emotionally intelligent. More able to empathise. But there is no short cut to effective emotional healing. So to this end, how do we go about achieving this? One way is to utilize the Workshops (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?board=36.0;sort=subject) available on this site to manage a relationship with a borderline. These tools are not specific to relationships with borderlines and will benefit all our relationships in life. I encourage people to take this journey, it will give you purpose when you feel like there is none in your life right now. It gives you a real world goal to work towards and a direction to travel in. Contributing on this site and helping others is an excellent way to build your skills, self-confidence and self-esteem. :) The end we all strive for is to become a better balanced and emotionally intelligent individual who can find the healthy relationship we want. WooHoo! :) Title: Re: Healing from the emotional wounds is hard Post by: Moselle on June 12, 2016, 07:13:18 PM Hey thanks C Stein.
I spent alot of time on the staying boards and "The Lessons" trying to save my relationship. With it going into a high conflict divorce, I've relied on CODA and therapy for my growth. What parts of this site have you learned the most from in terms of recovery? I'm liking this bit from "processing" "What you learn in this journey about relationships, people, communications and most importantly yourself (e.g., strengths to build upon, weakness to resolve) can shape positive change for the rest of your life" |
