I just can't believe it sometimes. I stare a lot if and when I bump into her. I know I was... .I know what you mean though. Its almost like we were with someone who is retarded and we didn't know it. They are in some ways... .I remember looking at mine like he was really out of his mind when he did certain things after we were apart for awhile. It is sad to think they are that messed up... .but we have to be strong and know that they can be calculating and abusive and not feel bad for them. They have a choice to get help or not. It feels strange to know they are messed up and then the next person they are with doesn't know and you can't even tell them because they won't believe you. I think it would be strange to be a parent of someone with BPD and not able to tell anyone exactly either. It's amazing how many are out there. I just chalked it up him being innocent and shy. He seemed awkward at life at times. But don't let that fool you! They are very smart and use their brains to manipulate, lie and deceive . It's best to just walk away knowing that we won't ever fully understand who they were and what they truly wanted from us. They are just living for themselves at a basic level . It is heartbreaking to know I gave my all. And was so invested in someone that just didn't care or wasn't capable of caring in adult ways. This disorder is completely a self centered disease
