In one of your last posts you mentioned you were beginning DBT family therapy. Your daughter seemed reluctant to participate, how are things now? What I have read about that particular medication is that it is primarily aimed at treating migraine attacks and seizures. I have read that some people also use it to treat other conditions including PTSD, certain mood disorders and eating disorders. However, there don't seem to be any peer-reviewed studies having established that this medication is safe and effective for those other conditions. There does seem to be some limited evidence from small-scale case studies, but as yet no large-scale studies have been published. Is your daughter perhaps getting any targeted treatment for her eating disorder? Have you discussed this medication with her doctor or therapist? |
