Title: New York law - she says she is pregnant
Post by: Jacidrinkswine on July 26, 2016, 07:58:32 PM
Bpd ex - clames to be pregnant. It is possible since we were intimate. She swore she was on the pill- now says she took in incorrectly. She has a history of lies and manipulation .  Any advice welcome.

Hey Jacidrinkswine:

This is the same woman that was trying to blackmail you back in June, right?  I'm thinking she is messing with you.  If she is pregnant, the baby might not be yours.

Be sure to keep any documentation you have in regard to her attempt to blackmail you (voice mails, texts, emails, etc.).  You probably want to take a position of not acknowledging paternity without paternity testing.

She could be pregnant, but I hope for you sake she isn't.  Since she lies, manipulates, and attempts blackmail, you will probably want to let things play out.  She may be trying to make you miserable, since she wasn't successful in blackmail.

Hi, you previously posted that she is a prolific liar.  Time will surely reveal whether she is really pregnant.  More time will reveal whether any baby is yours.

In short, time is on your side.  Meanwhile your best option is to have as little contact as possible until you know one way or the other regarding pregnancy and then paternity.  Also, take advantage of the time you have while this is pending and improve your communication, perspective and coping skills with the many lessons here.

And especially don't obligate yourself to anything until you're proven to be a father.  For example, another member who was claimed to be father has been paying the woman's bills.  Well, she evidently is feeling entitled and in control since she's chosen to have a C-section which would obviously be much more expensive than a normal birth.  So he's paying the bills and he doesn't even know whose baby it is.  See my point?
