Title: Judge Post by: rarsweet on August 07, 2016, 08:11:01 AM Has anybody experienced coming into contact with their judge outside the courtroom. I had to wait on our judge last night at the restaurant I work at
I have in the distant past but for the last couple of years he would ask for someone else. He had actually told my boss that he didnt feel it was appropriate for him to tip me. He did last night. He introduced me to the former sheriff and his wife. He then asked me how school was going. He asked about the volunteer work I do. The family center where I am on the board of directors has a lot of contact with the Judge. He then told me I should try his wife's blueberry pie, said it was better than the restaurant's. Called me by first name. It was bizarre. We have court in 23 days. I would say its a good omen for court.

Title: Re: Judge Post by: LilMe on August 07, 2016, 08:31:46 PM uBPD and I personally know the judges in our small county so they each recused themselves from our case and a judge from another county was brought in. We knew them before our case started, so maybe that makes a difference? We have attend church with some and have worked with others doing volunteer work and things over the years.
In your case I would hope you ex doesn't know or it might become an issue. Very interesting - let us know how it turns out! Title: Re: Judge Post by: Turkish on August 08, 2016, 12:19:34 AM This does sound positive, but it also sounds like a moral dilemma. I grew up (teen years) in a small rural California county with about 37000 people. You don't know everybody, but you're only likely no more than two people removed from everybody else.
You can keep it BIFF, maybe without the Firm. I doubt there isn't likely a chance of appeal, but you do all live in the same community. It's a fine line to walk, but you aren't doing anything untoward. Title: Re: Judge Post by: married21years on August 08, 2016, 03:13:30 AM sounds like the judge has seen the light |iiii
Title: Re: Judge Post by: sanemom on August 11, 2016, 09:57:47 PM It does sound like a good sign. When you live in a small enough community, people know people and run into people all the time. As long as you aren't going to his house for pool parties, you are probably fine. My judge came up on my facebook feed as someone I may know, and it was because we have some mutual friends (not close friends). I freaked at first... .lol.
