Is it normal to feel so down and depress and feel like you are tired of living?

I think most people have a short spell of feeling like that at some time. I certainly have had many over the course of my life.It isn't ok if it goes on for longer, or if it is very strong... .I think you just have to reach out to people and get some comfort, tell your doctor, write on here. Depression is a real illness and you have to take it seriously. The strains we are under dealing with difficult people makes it more likely that we too will have difficulties.

Hi Lind67: 

Along with individual situations, it can be  a tough time of year for anxiety and depression, as we head into Fall and shorter days.  It can be tough to go through a breakup, but things can and will get better.  I think many people here have felt as you do, as they work through a breakup with a partner or difficulties with family members with BPD.


It can help to keep posting about your thoughts, fears and feelings.  Are you in any therapy right now?  If you aren't in therapy, perhaps it is something to start.  It can really help to have someone to talk to in pereson.  Do you have any family or friends you can lean on a bit?

Taking some meds for a period of time, can be helpful to relieve the anxiety and depression, until you can get some things sorted out.

Are you doing anything to take care of yourself right now:  getting exercise, some form or meditation, mindfulness or stress relief?
