Title: Read this tonight and wanted to share it Post by: JerryRG on October 18, 2016, 11:53:51 PM "The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this:
A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him... . a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create - - - so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating." -Pearl Buck- Title: Re: Read this tonight and wanted to share it Post by: heartandwhole on October 19, 2016, 06:35:32 AM Wow, JerryRG, that is a powerful quote by Pearl Buck. I love the passion in it.
Do you resonate with that message of being creative? heartandwhole Title: Re: Read this tonight and wanted to share it Post by: JerryRG on October 19, 2016, 06:38:24 AM I guess I do, how about you heartandwhole?
I couldn't explain why I wanted to share this, it speaks to me, maybe pwBPD as well? Title: Re: Read this tonight and wanted to share it Post by: heartandwhole on October 19, 2016, 06:55:54 AM I think I am sensitive and creative, but don't think I can compete with Ms. Buck's description. :)
Title: Re: Read this tonight and wanted to share it Post by: JerryRG on October 19, 2016, 07:03:20 AM I was thinking the same, maybe she's describing people like pwBPD? That's what I thought of, my exgf was very creative but I'm sure not all pwBPD are gifted any more than usual.
I am sensitive, don't always seem to be an asset Title: Re: Read this tonight and wanted to share it Post by: heartandwhole on October 19, 2016, 07:42:45 AM Yes, I see what you mean. Aside from the creativity part (don't know if it's related), Buck's description also has that feeling of over-the-top sensitivity. That is something I have experienced in my family, and I suspect some members have BPD traits.
