Title: My best friend/roommate has BPD Post by: NatalieLynn on October 20, 2016, 09:32:10 PM Hello,
My best friend and I have known each other for quite some time now. She is the closest thing to family that I have. We recently were both medically discharged from the Army and upon moving home she started searching for explanations to how she was feeling. Shortly after she was diagnosed with BPD. We are both struggling with coping techniques. She is more of the highly functioning invisible type. I suppose I was just thinking that some one who has already been there may have some advice. Thank you! Is it like seemingly innocuous conversations suddenly turning ugly? Is there a history with her being a difficult personality before she was in the military?
The lessons on the Improving Board can help give you background on understanding BPD and there are lessons on communication skills which can help reduce conflict. For us, is often not seeing the triggers. Maybe this can help to start: How It Feels To Have BPD (https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=67059.0) I look more to hearing how we can help. *welcome* Turkish Title: Re: My best friend/roommate has BPD Post by: Mutt on October 21, 2016, 09:16:38 AM Hi NatalieLynn,
