Title: Hard to heal
Post by: Lil bit on November 09, 2016, 05:27:25 AM
I was in a relationship with a man who has all the BPD signs and is an active alcoholic on top of that. I am 6 weeks out and still hurting and confused about it all. Have been reading this site for the last 6 weeks and it has given me some comfort

Hi Lil bit,

*welcome*

I'm sorry that you are hurting and confused, although I can fully understand why. Breakups with someone with BPD can hurt so much more than "regular" breakups. I can definitely relate to your feelings—I felt exactly the same when I first got here.    I'm glad you decided to post. It really helps to get your story down in writing. You'll find that so many members here understand and can relate to your situation.

When you are ready, tell us a bit more about your story. How long were you together with your partner? What has been the most challenging thing to deal with since the breakup? Are you still in contact?

Since you've been reading for awhile, you've probably seen many of the great articles on the site. Have you read this one? It helped me so much when I first got here:

Surviving a Break-up when Your Partner has Borderline Personality (https://bpdfamily.com/content/surviving-break-when-your-partner-has-borderline-personality)

Again, welcome. I look forward to reading more of your posts. We're here for you during this difficult time.
