Title: bringing an adult child home
Post by: jeffkra on November 15, 2016, 05:33:59 PM
I am not one to easily accept labels but recently brought our granddaughter home who has lived most Of 2 years on the street trading sex for money or a place to sleep.  We do not really know how to deal with her. She has many symptoms resembling BPD and
Got that diagnosis recently during a short stay at a hospital.  Services are almost non- existent here.  We are often afraid of her and made her stay away for a longtime but she is home now.  We fear she will become her old violent self and  a threat to us.  What can we do to diffuse violent confrontation?

How can we find a good therapist when funds are very limited.  We do feel in some ways she is now willing to seek help.

Hi jeffkra,

Welcome and hello  :)

I'm sorry for what brings you here, and glad you found the site.

What happens when she is violent? What are some of the behaviors that are challenging for you and your family?

It's a good sign that she is willing to seek help. How has she expressed this to you?
