Hi Minnow30

Thanks for posting this introduction and welcome to  bpdfamily.

You are interested in reading the experiences of others with a difficult parent, I would say you have definitely come to the right place for that!  Many of our members have a disordered parent and know how very challenging this can be. I myself have an undiagnosed BPD mother.

Could you perhaps tell us a bit more about your own situation? What are your parent's behaviors that you find most difficult to deal with? Has your parent been diagnosed with BPD?

Take care and I hope to read more of your story later

Hi Minnow30,

*welcome*

I'd like to join Kwamina  C<||| the board parrot and welcome you. I have a father that displays traits of an anxiety disorder. He was a very difficult man that couldn't be reasoned with and was controlling, I wasn't allowed to go have friends or see them, living at home felt like I was incarcerated. I didn't understand that I was growing up / living with a mentally ill parent until much later in life when I married a woman that has traits of BPD, they both had similar traits but had very different ones too, my ex wife is very impulsive where my father is not but very anxious. Anyways, what's you backstory? I'm glad that you decided to join us, you'll find many members here that can relate with you and offer you guidance and support, it helps to talk.
