Title: Introduction Post by: annabananna on November 25, 2016, 12:17:10 PM Hi, I've been with my spouse 16 years and have tried many time to figure out what causes her outrages that are normally directed towards me. It was just recently that I found out about BPD so now I at least have a starting point for understanding what has and continues to go on with her. I live in Europe but am from the US so have felt very isolated in dealing with the chaos that happens in our relationship. Yesterday, I started reading Stop Walking on Eggshells: Taking your life back when someone you care about has borderline personality disorder, and already I feel somewhat relieved to know that there are tools out there to help me. My major immediate issue was whether or not I should tell my spouse I think she has BPD but now I know it's not a good idea. So, I will patiently read and work to understand how to proceed for the betterment of both of us. Thanks! AnnaBananna

*welcome*. It sounds like you're off to a really good start! That is a book that many have found very very helpful. Along with our resources here and the community of people who will understand the particular challenges of living with and loving someone with BPD, you are fortifying yourself with some really great tools. Keep us posted on how things go as you progress through the book and begin to use some of the tools. Feel free to tell us more about your relationship, and of course ask questions. We're all getting through things together. :) |
