Title: In law
Post by: BetterHealth on November 25, 2016, 02:02:35 PM
I've lived a roller coaster relationship with an in law for the better part of a decade.
Before I've been confused or hurt, but at this point, I am suffering with anxiety. My deepest fear is that if I stop having a relationship with her, I'll lose the relationship with my brother and his children.

Hi BetterHealth

You've been dealing with this difficult in-law for quite a long time now. Many of our members have struggled with anxiety as a result of the people with BPD (traits) in their lives. This isn't easy but there are some things that can help such as mindfulness/meditation and certain cognitive behavior techniques. Have you perhaps tried any of these things to help you cope with your anxiety?

Based on your post I assume the in-law is your sister-in-law. How does your brother view her behavior? Does he think there is anything wrong with how she behaves?
