Title: Grown son with destructive emotional behavior
Post by: Mrwarrior on November 27, 2016, 02:04:31 PM
My grown son is behaving in a way that is very difficult to deal with emotionally.
I am wanting to learn how to cope with his behavior. He has seen a therapist who says he is depressed but I'm not sure that is all there is to it! I want to maintain our relationship some how.

Hi Mrwarrior,

What are some of the tough behaviors and emotional states that are difficult?

How would you describe your relationship with your son at the moment?

Glad you found the site. Trust your instincts about what you think is going on. You are probably right  :)

Hi there mrwarrier

Welcome to the forum.

My BPDs is 26 and returned home last December. He's a quiet BPD and internalises his behaviour and he's very good at hiding his despair. Obviously there are times when his feelings are so very evident it's heartbreaking. We just want them to be happy and it's so hard to watch them suffer.

How old is your adult son and does he live at home?
Is he working and is he receiving any treatment?
