Title: Not sure what to say
Post by: jjohnson117281 on December 08, 2016, 05:21:59 PM
This is my first time to post on this subject an on any discussion board at all for that matter. I am involved with a women who I think has BPD. She was raped multiple times in her youth and exhibits many traits that fall under the BPD spectrum. The relationship can be very caring, however she pushes me away and has cheated on me once that I know of. We are trying to get back together but I am very weary of proceeding. I have taken some of the advice I gleaned from BPD central and attempt boundaries and diffused communication. I also am going to counseling. I have been focusing on myself more and getting healthier and happier.  She seems to have responded to this in a positive way. I am just worried about trust and moving forward. Any guidance or shared stories would be most appreciated.

BTW-All my friends, family and counselor tell me to RUN... .I can't seem to take their advice as I care about this person.

Hi jjohnson117281,

*welcome*

I'd like to welcome you to  bpdfamily. I'm sorry to hear that. Your counselor, family, friends all mean well but you're in this r/s, they're not. It's a personal choice. That's good news that you're getting healthier, it sounds like you have boundaries and I'm guess you're keeping minimal contact or spacing your messages out? Does she contact you? What dies she say?
