Hi statsattack

I haven't, but here's a bump and a discussion.

McLean is a very well known program for BPD. Its is thought of as one of the best. Make sure it focuses on the behaviors of most trouble to your daughter.Randi KregerThe Essential Family Guide to BPD: New Tools and Techniques to Stop Walking on Eggshells

What are your thoughts about sending your ex to treatment?

My thoughts are only way she can possibly ever learn accountability

You're probably right. I do agree that centres seem to be one of the most effective ways for pwBPDs to improve. But $$$.

Now, do you see it as your job to teach her to be accountable? This was one of my very big struggles in my relationship, so I encourage you to explore.

McLean's Hospital is a psychiatric institution. People get admitted when the have debilitating emotional crisis or breakdown or try to kill themselves... .

I think you thinking more in terms of a residential treatment program - where people go to reprogram their approach to life.

People (all people) typically seek / or are motivated to treatment after an some failure or loss in life to resolve problems they perceive.

I think this article an video will help you get this in perspective.

Tell us what you think.

Her family has money to afford the residential program. What I also learned is single sessions of therapy are a waste for BPD they need long term programs to change.

I spoke with a social worker/ case manager their. When you have a support system and people to hold you accountable it's a huge difference between enabling friends who are dum as rocks, naive catholic parents and a society that lets females get away with murder.

If the PWBPD TRULY doesn't believe they need help, it will most likely result in them going through the motions to try and hold onto an attachment. The only way anyone will change is if they really want to.
