Title: Obsessing
Post by: Anduman on December 27, 2016, 09:36:38 PM
Basically my wife tends to obsess over things and over analyse things.  I have pointed this out to her and she is aware of this.  Because of this behaviour she does tend to drag things out a lot.  If we discuss something she tends to go over and over and over and over it.  Grateful for any advice on this.  Thanks.

Hi Anduman,

You are welcome here. Do you suspect your wife of having BPD? You can check some of the Perspective Articles over here in the banner on the right --->.

The degree to which we analyse something is personal and what's too much is quite subjective. I have a friend, who irritates me intensely because of his habit / ability to sort something with one sentence. To me, the conversation has just started, to him there's no reason to think about it any further. I am sure he is just as confused by my interest in continuing to think about it as I am by his lack of interest. :)

How do you deal with the discussions? Can you give an example of a recent issue in which your wife over-analysed something?
