Title: Peeing the bed... Post by: Herodias on December 31, 2016, 10:02:31 PM I'm hearing of a common thing with personality disordered people, drinking then peeing in the bed. My ex called it "his condition"... .I called it drunk! But now that I talked to my friend who has been with two narcs in a row, said they did it too! Another person I know told me her ex did it too! I actually made mine wear diapers to bed until he stopped doing it! Gee, just like you do with a toddler! Is this a drunk thing or a personality thing? Mine actually was laughing the last time he did it because I caught him while doing it and he told me he knew he was doing it- while smirking about it. The new gf calls him " Blushes"
And I am sure I know why! Any thoughts? My friends and I say we have never been so drunk we peed the bed, what is this about? It can be A male or female too I have found out. Seems an appropriate question on the biggest party night of the year... . Title: Re: Peeing the bed... Post by: Wood stock on December 31, 2016, 11:53:00 PM That is very interesting... .my BPD ex peed the bed too. I had never seen a grown man do that before him. Like you said, I have been deathly drunk and never wet the bed. Where did you hear this theory?
Title: Re: Peeing the bed... Post by: fromheeltoheal on January 01, 2017, 01:01:10 AM what is this about? That behavior is not limited to borderlines, it can be attributed to anyone who is turning to alcohol as a problem-solver, or at least a problem-avoider; someone in that place is drinking for effect, not for the taste or the social interaction, and once the booze starts to kick in it's very easy to drink beyond what might be considered appropriate. And then, in an alcohol-induced stupor, the point of drinking for that drinker, bladder control becomes optional and/or out of the awareness. The disorder is enough reason for borderlines to potentially turn to alcohol to feel better, impulsive substance abuse being one of the traits of the disorder, but how many people in how many stages of life have we known, or have been, who use alcohol in that way? Quite a few yes? So is this information helping with your detachment Herodias? Title: Re: Peeing the bed... Can you share the source of this information? Its a extraordinary claim, and very demeaning. |---> Urinary incontinence can be a function of natural diuretics, medical conditions, changes in life, or age. www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/urinary-incontinence/basics/causes/con-20037883 |---> The market for incontinence products is over $10 billion. This is an embarrassing reality for many adults. Title: Re: Peeing the bed... Post by: enlighten me on January 01, 2017, 02:26:57 AM Neither of my two uBPD exs wet the bed. I do know a lot of soldiers that did though. Coinciding with a heavy drinking session. Also had a friend that did it regularly even if it was only one drink he had. He had to have a nasal inhaler to stop it.
I agree with FHTH that its probably more to do with alcohol than any disorder. Title: Re: Peeing the bed... Post by: Herodias on January 01, 2017, 06:24:14 AM It just happened to come up with two people I know who were with people w/PD's... .one being BPD. I just wondered what other people have been through. So, I guess you are saying it's just extreme alcohol in the system. Probably mixed with pills.
This question has nothing to do with my detachment from heel to heal, thank you. Is there a board for questions on BPD that is not about detaching? Would it be The one on the psychology of BPD? Sorry I posted here. Feel free to move it there if it belongs there-thank you. Yes Skip, it is embarrassing and demeaning, especially when someone does it continuously and you are stuck cleaning up after them all the time, because they don't care. I think Senior incontinence is totally a different subject. My ex was 25 at the time and still doing it at times when 35. It was mostly when drunk and if he just didn't want to get out of bed. Especially when he claimed he knew he was doing it the last time. My friend said her ex wanted a urinal, so he did not have to walk to the bathroom... .he had no reason to do this except to demean her and make her have to clean up after him. This is what my question is about. Title: Re: Peeing the bed... Post by: Pipedreamer25 on January 01, 2017, 07:20:39 AM My exBPDbf is a severe alcoholic. It's at the point now where it is probably going to kill him. He never once in our four year relationship peed the bed.
