Title: Niece with BPD, who has caused lots of trouble in our family
Post by: Wednedsay on January 03, 2017, 11:51:22 PM
I have two problems, I have a Niece with BPD and a daughter with something else, not sure what. My Niece went and told my daughter that I said she was mentally ill and now my daughter has written me off. I am not sure how to deal with this. Should I try to talk to my Niece (I do not trust her) ? I have read a book on BPD but still have lots of questions.

Hi Wednedsay,

Welcome to  bpdfamily  I also saw you had another thread about the same subject, you can read the response you got there via this link:

You only recently found out about your niece having BPD, is your niece being treated for it?

What leads you to believe your daughter is mentally ill? I did see you mentioned suspecting she has paranoid personality disorder in your other thread. Could you tell us a bit more about your daughter's behaviors that concern you?

Hi, Wednesday,

I read your other thread, too. It must be painful that your daughter isn't speaking with you. What do you hope to gain from trying to talk to your niece?

How long have you felt your daughter has Paranoid Personality Disorder? Have you had any help in dealing with its impact on your life? In my life I've found that even a little professional support can go a long way.

We'd love to hear more from you and will be happy to answer whatever questions we can. Glad you've joined us!

Wishing you peace,

PF
