Title: I suspect my daughter has BPD Post by: Dellam on January 05, 2017, 06:50:03 AM M 34 year old daughter exhibits signs of BPD. She has rages over very small things, which she can carry on for weeks. I am then evil, nasty and wicked. No memory of me being anything other than an awful mother. She gets very angry if I go away on holiday for a week. She smokes cannabis to help her "keep calm" and sleep. she has done this for years. She is so very angry and nothing I say or do can help her see past her anger and resentfulness. For instance, I could not buy her the £350 trainers she asked me for. Next thing she said she took herself to A&E with suspected pneumonia which she said she had as a result of not having the right shoes. I am always calm and try to think about every word I say. I am desperate with worry for her. I miss my lovely daughter, who seems to have disappeared.

*welcome* I'm sorry to hear that. It's heart breaking when a loved one with bpdfamily seem completely different mood and personality wise. I couldn't talk to my ex wife because she was so hostile towards, that took several years though. Being split black doesn't happen all at once. A pwBPD have a difficult time seeing people that can an integrated whole. A good person has bad qualities and a bad person has good qualities, the psychological term is called splitting.
