Title: How do you respond to a BPD?
Post by: Confused1234 on January 07, 2017, 03:08:30 AM
So my big question that has me  perplexed from the article I just read suggest this "Consider how to respond to the person’s: Catastrophic predictions and threats, name-calling, labeling and negative judgments."   So I want to  rehearse how to respond when this happens ,How does a non BPD calming respond when being  verbally abused ?  I can't always walk away ,drive off, hang up or sit there and take it ,  what can I  actually say ?

Yes, it's definitely tough keeping calm, and walking away, but l've noticed that it does work. I tried it few times, and it worked, l was assertive stating the facts, and then calmly walked away. Being human, l'm not able to do this all the time, but l noticed that it does work when l use the strategy.
